As you all may know by now, something big is happening at Doncaster BMW. The large hole out the back of our Doncaster dealership is starting to resemble something quiet substantial and momentous.
Stage one of our redevelopment consists of a three level customer parking and Service facility area. 12,500m³ of earth has been removed and 87 piles have been inserted around the perimeter that range from 3.45m to 9.65m deep. All the perimeter panels are now complete and the steelwork and tilt-slabs finished - that’s a total of 280 tonnes of steel!
The construction of the suspended floor and ground floor slabs is 70% complete. The newly built basement has been installed with 100,000L water tank harvesters which will allow Doncaster BMW to recycle rainwater. The structure now has 50% of all electrical services roughed into the stage one project.
Once the foundations are complete the service workshop fit out can take place. With a floor area of 7000m² there is plenty of room for the best fit out possible. A total of 28 bays will be fitted, which consist of dedicated diagnostic bays and two four-wheel alignment bays. Heating and cooling inside the workshop will be installed as well as an increased tool storage space for the mechanics. Additionally within the workshop there will be six detailing bays with an auto car wash for service customers. There will definitely be ample parking for customers and staff with 226 parking bays in total.
